June (Lucyk) Ricklefs earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba. In 2002 she founded the Prairie River Artists in Saskatoon.
She moved north in 2011 to continue painting the beautiful landscapes of Saskatchewan. She has also painted landscapes of the Yukon, Mexico and France. She was one of the artists on the 283 Art Studio Tour near Christopher Lake.
She moved back to Saskatoon in 2019 and has rejoined the Prairie River Artists.
June works in watercolour and acrylic on her favorite subjects of landscapes, wildlife and florals.
“As an artist, if I had waited for inspiration to strike I would not have done much painting. I have to do the work first to get to the heart of what I am trying to accomplish.”
